Yes. Every consumer has the right under the Fair Credit Reporting Act to dispute inaccurate, incomplete, or unverifiable information directly with the credit bureaus, for free. Our Do It Yourself guide walks you through it. Most people who hire us do so because they want a professional strategy, someone who knows what to send and when, and the persistence to see it through over several months.
How long does credit repair take?
Most clients work with us for three to six months, but the honest answer is that it depends on your file. Bureaus have 30 days (sometimes 45) to respond to each dispute round, and complex files with multiple creditors and collectors usually need several rounds. We tell you what to expect after reviewing your reports, and we update that estimate as results come in.
What can be removed from my credit report?
Anything that is inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or that a furnisher cannot verify. That can include collections, late payments, charge-offs, repossessions, and hard inquiries. What cannot be removed is accurate, verifiable, timely information. Anyone who promises to remove accurate negative items is not being honest with you.
Will I get the same results as someone else?
No, and we will never suggest you would. One client may see twenty deletions because their file was full of errors and unverifiable accounts. Another may see three, because their negatives are accurate and recent. Results depend on your file, your creditors, and your goals. What stays constant is the quality of the strategy and the persistence behind it.
Can you guarantee a specific score increase?
No. Federal law (the Credit Repair Organizations Act) prohibits credit repair companies from guaranteeing results, and any company that does so is breaking the law. We guarantee our work: an honest review, a real strategy for your situation, and disputes sent and tracked every round.
How much does it cost?
We charge a monthly fee for work performed, with no long-term contract. You can cancel at any time. We do not charge before services are performed, as required by federal law. Pricing is on our Services page, and we confirm it in writing before you enroll.
What do you need from me to start?
Your current credit reports from all three bureaus (we will show you how to pull them for free or set you up with monitoring), a copy of your ID and proof of address for the bureaus, and a conversation about your goals. Buying a house next year and cleaning up an old collection call for different plans.
Do I need credit monitoring?
It is strongly recommended. Monitoring gives us updated reports each month so we can see exactly what changed after each dispute round and adjust. We will point you to affordable options; we do not require a specific provider.
Should I pay off collections first?
Not necessarily. Paying a collection does not remove it from your report, and in some cases it can restart attention on an old account. Talk to us before paying anything. Depending on the account, age, and your goals, the right move may be to dispute, negotiate a pay-for-delete, or simply let it age off.
Is credit repair legal?
Yes. Disputing inaccurate information is your legal right under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Credit repair companies are regulated by the Credit Repair Organizations Act and, in Tennessee, the Credit Services Businesses Act. You can read your rights on our Your Rights page.
