About
Meet Laura Martin.
Founder & Credit Strategist, The Credit Firm · Memphis, Tennessee
“Credit repair really is something anyone can do themselves. I say that on the front page of my own website because it's true, and because I would rather earn a client's trust than their fear. When someone hires me, it's because they want a professional with proven results, and a plan built for their file instead of a template.”
[Placeholder bio, to be confirmed with Laura: how she got into credit repair, years of experience, certifications or training (e.g., FCRA/FDCPA), community ties in Memphis, and what she does when she isn't reading credit reports.]
How Laura works
Knowledge. Strategy. Persistence.
Three words that describe every engagement, and the reason a professional gets results a template never will.
01
Knowledge
The Fair Credit Reporting Act, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, how bureaus actually process disputes, and what furnishers can and cannot verify. Knowing the rules is what makes the difference between a form letter and a dispute that lands.
02
Strategy
Every file gets read against the client's real goal. Which items matter for a mortgage underwriter are not the ones that matter for an auto lender. The order of disputes, the choice of bureau versus furnisher, and the timing are all decisions, not defaults.
03
Persistence
Round after round, deadline after deadline, escalation after escalation. Most people who try to do this themselves stop after the second "verified" letter. Laura doesn't.
Principles
What Laura believes about this work.
- Tell the truth first. If a file has nothing to dispute, the client hears it in the consultation, for free.
- Every client is different. Twenty deletions for one person is not a forecast for the next. Results follow the file and the goals.
- Do it legally or don't do it. No CPNs, no "not mine" on accurate accounts, no guarantees.
- Write the strategy down. Clients can see the reasoning behind every dispute in their portal.
- Know when to stop. The goal is a finished plan, not a permanent subscription.
Free consultation
Talk to Laura.
The consultation is free and it's a conversation, not a pitch. A house, a car, a fresh start, or just being done feeling embarrassed when someone pulls your credit: whatever it is, you'll leave knowing what your file needs, even if the answer is "do it yourself."
